Four People Taken To Hospital After Crash Near Sibley

Sibley, Iowa — Four people were taken to the hospital after an accident near Sibley on Friday, October 31, 2025.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office has just released information that says that at about 4:30 p.m., 60-year-old Randy Leesley of Jefferson was driving a 2021 Ram 2500 pickup eastbound on 170th Street, about a mile east of Jackrabbit Junction. They tell us that 27-year-old Megan Travaille of Ocheyedan was also eastbound on 170th, in front of Leesley in a 2018 Chevy.

The report says that Travaille activated her left-turn signal, slowed, and came to a complete stop, waiting for westbound traffic to clear before turning. Leesley stated that his windshield had become fogged, and while he was adjusting the climate controls, he failed to observe that Travaille had stopped. Leesley then struck the rear of the Travaille vehicle.

The Sibley Ambulance took Travaille and the three passengers in her vehicle to Osceola Regional Health Center Hospital.

Leesley’s pickup and Travaille’s vehicle were both totaled in the crash.

At the time the report was filed, no charges had been filed.
