George, Iowa — A George man faces a felony charge after a series of incidents in and around George on Sunday night.
According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, their deputies responded to a Domestic Dispute in George. When they got there, they found that 46-year-old Michael Bruhn of George had left the scene. When authorities found Bruhn, they tell us he initially failed to stop the GMC Yukon he was driving. A short pursuit ensued before Bruhn lost control of the vehicle he was driving and it ended up in the ditch. The deputy says Bruhn was driving over 70 miles per hour when the vehicle entered the ditch and got stuck in a creek.
An Iowa State Trooper assisted, and reported that while there was evidence that he had been drinking, Bruhn refused sobriety tests.
Bruhn was charged with felony eluding; and misdemeanor counts of domestic abuse assault and harassment by the sheriff’s office. The Iowa State Patrol charged him with a misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated.
At last report, Bruhn remained in the Lyon County Jail in Rock Rapids.
