George, Iowa — A George woman has pleaded guilty in connection with the theft of funds from the George-Little Rock Booster Club.
According to court records, 35-year-old Shawna Beth Henrichs was charged with 1st Degree Theft, which is a Class C Felony, for allegedly misappropriating funds from the George-Little Rock Booster Club between April 10th of 2019 and December 16th of 2020. The George-Little Rock Booster Club reported to the court that over $75,000 was missing from their accounts.
Court records indicate that Henrichs, who represented herself without an attorney in court, agreed to plead guilty as part of a plea agreement, which changed the charge to Third Degree Theft, an aggravated misdemeanor.
Henrichs was sentenced to 365 days in the Lyon County Jail with all but thirty days suspended and with credit for time already served. But in lieu of serving the sentence in the Lyon County Jail, Henrichs was allowed to serve the time under electronic monitoring. If she doesn’t serve the sentence as ordered, she will have to serve the entire sentence in jail.
She’s also responsible for fines, surcharges, court costs, and fees and will serve two years of probation.
Henrichs was also ordered to pay restitution to the George/Little Rock Booster Club unless she proves she does not have a reasonable ability to pay some or all of the restitution.
