Sioux Center, Iowa — A Granville man faces a felony theft charge following an investigation by the Sioux Center Police Department.
According to court documents, 33-year old Jeremy Simich of Granville is accused of passing bad checks on three separate occasions at a Sioux Center Business.
Court documents accuse Simich of passing a $350.00 check on October 27th of last year at the Shell Sioux Per Center in Sioux Center. Simich is also accused of passing a $340.00 check on November 2nd of last year, and a third check, in the amount of $340.00 on November 7th of last year. Court documents indicate that all three checks came back for insufficient funds, with the total of the checks coming to $1,030.00.
According to court documents, the business sent a notice demanding payment by certified mail, which Simich allegedly signed for on September 6th of this year, but the business reportedly received no response.
Simich was arrested this past Saturday, October 13th, on a warrant for 2nd Degree Theft, which is a Class D Felony. Online Jail records indicate Simich was released the same day on a $5-thousand bond.
