Granville Man Facing Felony Sexual Abuse Charges

Orange City, Iowa — A Granville man has been arrested and faces sexual abuse charges.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s office, their deputies arrested 27-year-old Daison Ramirez-Pu of Granville and charged him with two counts of third-degree sexual abuse.

The charges stem from an investigation that began in early 2020 where Ramirez-Pu is alleged to have had illegal sexual contact with two minor female victims.

According to the criminal complaint, Ramirez-Pu allegedly told one victim that he would harm her family or report her as living in the country illegally if she didn’t cooperate. The second victim was 14 years old at the time of the alleged assault, and the complaint alleges that he told her he would bring harm to her family if she didn’t cooperate.

Sioux County Sheriff’s Office Major Jamie Van Voorst says Ramirez-Pu was picked up at the O’Brien County jail where he was due to some local charges he faced in that county, but he says Ramirez-Pu is also a federal inmate housed in O’Brien County, so he will likely go back to that jail.
