Hartley, Iowa — A Hartley man has been arrested on a felony drug charge after a visit from federal probation officers.
According to a criminal complaint filed with the O’Brien County Clerk of Court’s Office by the Hartley Police Department, 40-year-old Robert Clinkenbeard of Hartley is accused of the third or subsequent possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested on Wednesday.
In his statement, the officer says he was contacted by Federal Probation Officers to respond to Clinkenbeard’s apartment. Federal Probation had located a white crystal substance and a glass pipe. The officer says Clinkenbeard admitted the substance was methamphetamine.
Clinkenbeard was charged with possession of controlled substances, third or subsequent offense, a class D felony. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison.
He faces a preliminary hearing on the charge on January 7th.
Clinkenbeard was booked into the O’Brien County Jail in Primghar, and was released the next day after posting bond.
