Hull, Iowa — A house sustained heavy damage in a house fire near Hull on Saturday.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Saturday, December 14, at about 2:40 p.m. their emergency center received a 911 report of a house fire at 3484 Ibex Avenue, two and a half miles south of Hull.
They report that the Hull Fire Department and Sioux County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the home and found an enclosed porch area of the house fully engulfed by fire. The Rock Valley Fire Department was paged to provide extra assistance.
They tell us no injuries were reported and the homeowner was not inside the residence at the time of the fire.
Officials say the house sustained extensive fire and smoke damage.
According to Hull Fire and Sioux County Sheriffs’ officials, the cause of the fire is believed to be due to an electrical system malfunction. It remains under investigation by the Hull Fire Chief.
The Rock Valley Fire Department, Hull Ambulance Squad and the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Hull Fire Department.
