Hospers, Iowa — A Hospers 19-year-old was taken to a hospital after a crash on Tuesday afternoon near Hospers.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 3:35 p.m., 19-year-old Summer Segelke of Hospers was driving a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix westbound on 390th Street, two miles west of Hospers, when she lost control of the car, which entered the north ditch, struck an electrical power pole, and rolled.
The sheriff’s office tells us the Hospers Ambulance took Segelke to Orange City Area Health.
The Pontiac sustained about $4,500 in damage. The electrical pole sustained approximately $2,000 in damage.
Segelke was cited on a charge of failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle.
The sheriff’s office tells us the Hospers Fire Department and Hospers Ambulance Squad assisted with the response to the crash.
