Hospers, Iowa — A Hospers teen was taken to the hospital after a crash near that town on Wednesday, February 4th.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says that about 7:40 a.m., 17-year-old Andrew Walter Castillo of Hospers was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer southbound on Highway 60, about a half mile south of 400th Street, near Hospers, when he lost control of the vehicle, which entered the west ditch and rolled, coming to rest on its top.
The Hospers Ambulance took Castillo to Sanford Sheldon Medical Center.
The vehicle sustained an estimated $10,000 in damage and was deemed a total loss.
Castillo was cited on a charge of failure to maintain control.
The Sheriff’s Office says the Hospers Fire Department and the Hospers Ambulance assisted them with the response to the crash.
