Hull, Iowa — A bicyclist was injured in an accident in Hull on Thursday, August 24, 2023.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 8:20 a.m., 17-year-old Barret Bleeker of Hull was driving a 2011 Ford Expedition northbound on Chestnut Street. They say 77-year-old Peter Brummel of Hull was riding a bicycle northbound on Chestnut Street ahead of Bleeker.
Bleeker went into the southbound lane to pass Brummel as Brummel attempted to turn left onto Railroad Street and the two collided.
The Hull Ambulance took Brummel to Sioux Center Health.
Damage to the Ford was estimated at $2,500.
The sheriff’s office reports that the Hull Fire Department and Hull Ambulance Squad assisted with the response to the accident.
