Hull Home Receives Significant Damage In Porch Fire

Hull, Iowa — A porch was destroyed and a home was damaged in a fire on Sunday afternoon in Hull.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, at about 4:45 p.m., the Hull and Rock Valley Fire Departments were called to the report of a porch on fire on Brown Street in Hull. Firefighters extinguished the flames.

Authorities tell us no one reported any injuries.

The cause of the fire is undetermined, says Hull Fire Chief Greg Van Roekel.

Reports indicate that the home sustained a significant amount of fire and smoke damage.

The Hull Fire Department was assisted by the Hull Ambulance, Rock Valley Fire Department and the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.

Van Roekel says firefighters were on the scene of the fire for about two hours.
