Hull Man Arrested For Forgery, Theft

Hull, Iowa — A 29-year-old Hull man was arrested late Wednesday afternoon on theft and forgery charges.

According to Sioux County authorities, the arrest of Austin Vink stemmed from an investigation that began earlier this month when a bank officer reported suspicious activity on two customer’s accounts.

The investigation discovered that Vink allegedly stole checks from the victims while employed for residential cleaning services, then allegedly wrote the stolen checks to himself for an amount totaling $6,050. The investigation also reportedly found that Vink allegedly stole cash from one of the victims, both of whom reside in Hull.

Deputies say Vink was charged with two counts of forgery, two counts of felony theft and one count of misdemeanor theft.

According to online court records, a preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for 9:00 am on Monday, May 2nd, in Sioux County Magistrate Court.
