Rock Valley, Iowa — A Hull man was taken to a hospital after an accident on Thursday morning near Rock Valley.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office tells us that a few minutes before 10:00 a.m., 78-year-old Orville Vant Hul of Hull was driving a 2022 Chevrolet pickup westbound on 310th Street — Highway 18 — west of Highway 75, four miles east of Rock Valley, when he lost control of the vehicle, which struck an Iowa Department of Transportation reflective post and entered the north ditch, coming to rest under the BNSF Railway bridge.
The Rock Valley Ambulance Squad took Vant Hul to Hegg Health Center in Rock Valley.
The pickup sustained about $3,000 in damage. Damage to the post was estimated at $250.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Rock Valley Ambulance Squad.
