Rock Rapids, Iowa — The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office investigated an accident near Rock Rapids on Tuesday, September 29th.
The Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 4:20 pm on Tuesday, 24-year-old Bradley Lupkes of Rock Rapids was driving a 2004 Chevy Impala south of Rock Rapids on Hickory Avenue. Fifty-eight-year-old Eldon Sneller of Doon was driving a 2004 Kenworth in front of Lupkes. According to the report, Lupkes was attempting to pass Sneller as Sneller was making a left turn at the residence of 1909 Hickory Avenue and struck the left rear of Lupkes’ Impala.
The Impala received $3000 damage, while the Kenworth received minimal damage.
No injuries were reported.
Lupkes was cited for improper passing and Sneller was cited for failure to wear safety belt.
