Inwood Woman Injured In Sioux Center Crash

Sioux Center, Iowa — An Inwood woman was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries received in a single-vehicle crash near Sioux Center Tuesday evening (May 15th).

Sioux County authorities say that around 7:50 Tuesday evening, 79-year old Geraldine VandeVegte of Inwood, was northbound on Highway 75 a mile south of Sioux Center, in a 2007 Buick Rendevouz, when she lost control of the vehicle, entered the east ditch, and struck a cement culvert.

Deputies say VandeVegte was taken to the Sioux Center Hospital by the Sioux Center Ambulance for treatment of what officials called “minor injuries.”

VandeVegte’s car sustained damages estimated at about $5-thousand, and deputies report about $1-thousand damage to the culvert.

Sioux County Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Sioux Center Fire Department, Sioux Center Ambulance, and Sioux Center Police Department.
