Kingsley Woman Accused Of Using Orange City Company’s Credit Cards

Orange City, Iowa — A Kingsley woman has been arrested on credit card theft charges after she allegedly used an Orange City company’s credit cards.

According to a criminal complaint filed with the Sioux County Clerk of Court’s Office by the Orange City Police Department, 43-year-old Krista Brown of Kingsley is accused of using an Orange City company’s credit cards for personal use. She was arrested on Tuesday, July 11th.

In his statement, the officer states that from November of 2022 to June of 2023, Brown is accused of using a company credit card without authorization to make several purchases from Amazon, totaling over $45,000 in value. She’s also accused of using the company’s gas card to buy over a thousand dollars’ worth of gasoline without authorization.

Brown was charged with first degree theft and unauthorized use of a credit card over $10,000, both class C felonies. She was also charged with a misdemeanor count of third degree theft. If convicted of a class C felony count, Brown could face up to ten years in prison.

She faces a preliminary hearing on the charges on Tuesday, July 18th.

At last report, Brown remained in the Sioux County Jail in Orange City in lieu of a $20,000 bond.
