Le Mars Man Facing Felony OWI Charge In Sanborn

Sanborn, Iowa — A Le Mars man is behind bars facing a felony charge after being arrested on Friday.

According to O’Brien County Jail officials, 49-year-old David Scott Vantuyl was arrested by the Sanborn Police Department on Friday. They report that Vantuyl faces a felony charge of Operating While Intoxicated, Third or Subsequent Offense, which is a class D felony.

Vantuyl also faces misdemeanor charges of Driving Under Suspension and Open Container.

At last report, jail officials say that Vantuyl remained in the O’Brien County Jail in Primghar after seeing the magistrate, and is being held in lieu of a $3866 bond. He faces a preliminary hearing in the case on November 13th.
