Primghar, Iowa — A Primghar man who had been charged with assaulting another man with an exhaust pipe has reached a plea agreement in the case.
Jesse Draven Christopherson was accused late last year of entering a Calumet home while carrying a muffler and exhaust pipe, and striking a man in that home with the exhaust pipe, according to court records.
Christopherson had been charged with 1st Degree Burglary, and Assault Causing Bodily Injury or Mental Illnesss.
Online court records indicate that earlier this week, Christopherson reached a plea agreement with prosecutors, and pled Guilty to the reduced charge of Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon. In exchange, the charges of 1st Degree Burglary and Assault Causing Bodily Injury or Mental Illness were dismissed.
Judge Nancy Whittenburg sentenced Christopherson to 364-days in jail, with 350-days of that sentence suspended. She also ordered him to serve 1-year of probation, and pay pay a $625 fine, which was then suspended, according to online court records.
