Michigan Woman Injured In Car-Deer Crash North Of Sheldon

Sheldon, Iowa — A Michigan woman was injured shortly before 2:00 Tuesday morning when the vehicle in which she as a passenger struck a deer north of Sheldon.

According to the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, the mishap occurred two miles north of Sheldon on Highway 60, when a southbound 2015 Subaru Legacy, driven by 39-year-old Reid Devoge of Chassell, Michigan struck a deer in the roadway.

Deputies say the car’s front seat passenger, 45-year-old Ashley Devoge, suffered a possible broken arm and was transported to the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center by the Sheldon Community Ambulance Team. Neither Reid Devoge, nor his two rear-seat passengers, were injured in the crash.

According to the report, the Subaru was totaled in the crash.
