Sheldon, Iowa– A Minneapolis, Minnesota man was taken to the hospital after an accident near Sheldon on Monday, September 11, 2023.
The Iowa State Patrol reports that at about 3:10 p.m., 53-year-old Mohamed Nuh of Minneapolis was driving a 2016 Cascadia truck southbound on Highway 60, about two miles southwest of Sheldon.
The report says that the driver was distracted and did not see a slowing vehicle in front of him. He told the trooper that he did see the turn signal and brake lights at the last moment so he swerved left, but lost control of the truck and rolled it. It came to rest on the driver’s side blocking both southbound lanes of travel.
SCAT took Nuh to Sanford Sheldon Hospital.
The trooper says the collision was investigated by the Iowa State Patrol, Sheldon Police Department, the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, and the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office.
