Minnesota Man Injured In Alton Tractor-Trailer Crash

Alton, Iowa — A Claremont, Minnesota man was injured late Thursday afternoon in a one-vehicle mishap on Highway 60 at Alton.

According to a report from the Orange City Police Department, shortly before 5:00 Thursday afternoon 44-year-old Randy Freerksen of Claremont was southbound on Highway 60, near mile marker 14, in a 2008 Peterbilt, owned by JKR Express, Inc., of Owatonna, Minnesota. Police say the truck left the left side of the roadway, entered the median and jumped a gravel turnaround maintenance cross-over, coming to rest on its right side in the median.

Authorities say Freerksen was taken to the Orange City Health System by the Alton Ambulance in the wake of the crash.

Police estimate damage to Freerksen’s truck and trailer at $60,000.
