Rock Rapids, Iowa — A Luverne, Minnesota teen was taken to a hospital after an accident on the state line north of Rock Rapids on Friday night.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that a few minutes before midnight, 17-year-old Shaun Dean Swenson Jr. of Luverne was southbound on Highway 75 on the “S” curves at 100th Street, driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, owned by Shaun Dean Swenson Sr.
The report says Swenson lost control due to the icy road conditions and the pickup left the roadway into the south ditch.
The Lyon County Ambulance took Swenson to Avera Rock Rapids Hospital.
The Sheriff’s Office reports that the Rock Rapids Fire Department and Lyon County Ambulance Squad assisted them with the response to the accident.
