Ocheyedan, Iowa — An elderly man with dementia who was reported missing Thursday from Jackson County, Minnesota has been found safe in northwest Iowa.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says the man, Ordell Skogen from Jackson, was reported missing on Thursday afternoon. They say he left his home in a red 2016 Toyota Rav 4 in an unknown direction of travel. According to law enforcement, the vehicle did not have a service such as OnStar, and he didn’t have a cell phone. They say Skogen has no sense of direction.
Photos of a similar vehicle and of Skogen were shared on social media, and the office asked for people to get in contact with them if they had any information.
He was found hours later near Ocheyedan and was said to be in good condition.
