Hull, Iowa – A motor vehicle accident near Hull sent a Doon woman to the hospital this past Friday.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office tells us 44-year-old Jacy Reekers of Orange City was driving a 2012 GMC Terrain westbound on 1st Street in Hull. Meanwhile, 64-year-old Lori Smit of Doon was driving a 2008 Chrysler Sebring southbound on Chestnut Street near Hull, and the two collided in the intersection.
Smit was transported by private vehicle to Sioux Center Health for treatment of minor injuries.
The GMC sustained an estimated $15,000 in damage; the Chrysler sustained approximately $10,000 in damage.
Reekers was cited for failure to obey a yield sign.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Hull Fire Department, Hull Ambulance, and the Iowa State Patrol.
