Nine People Possibly Injured In Pickup V Bus Accident

Sioux Center, Iowa– Nine people were listed as possibly injured after a pickup versus bus accident in Sioux Center on Saturday, February 10, 2024.

The Sioux Center Police Department reports that at about 4:00 p.m., 22-year-old Rudy Ramirez Simon of Hull was driving a 2007 Toyota pickup northbound on Highway 75 in Sioux Center. They tell us that 26-year-old Eriayana Frazier of Omaha was southbound on 75, as the driver of a 2018 MCI commercial bus.

The report says that the bus was passing through a green light, when the Ramirez Simon allegedly failed to yield to the bus and attempted to turn left, or westbound onto 16th Street in the path of the bus, and the vehicles collided.

Eight people on the bus, many from the Omaha area, and Ramierez Simon, the driver of the pickup, were all checked out by the Sioux Center Ambulance, but no one was transported to a hospital.

Ramirez Simon’s Toyota pickup was totaled, with $15,000 in damages, and the commercial bus sustained about $20,000 in damages.
