Ocheyedan, Iowa — An Ocheyedan man has been arrested on felony charges related to the alleged touching of a juvenile in Ocheyedan.
A criminal complaint from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office accuses 28-year-old Lazaro Gomez Vega of Ocheyedan of inappropriately touching a juvenile. He was arrested on Tuesday.
In his statement, the deputy says that with the assistance of Child Protective Services, he received the report of the alleged crime. The minor victim accuses Gomez Vega of ongoing sexual acts, including inappropriate touching.
Gomez Vega was charged with lascivious acts with a child, a class C felony. If convicted, he could face up to ten years in prison.
A preliminary hearing has been set for April 14th. A no-contact order has been placed.
At last report, Gomez Vega remained in the Osceola County Jail in Sibley without bond.
