One Adult, Two Juveniles Charged In Sheldon Area Burglary

Sheldon, Iowa — One adult and two juveniles face charges after allegedly being caught in the act of a burglary near Sheldon Monday.

According to a release from the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, they received a call Monday from a subject who was calling from his vacant farm in rural Sheldon. Authorities say the caller had allegedly caught three individuals stealing copper wire, pipes, and tools from his farm. The Sheriff’s Office says the victim was able to detain the suspects until law enforcement arrived.

According to authorities, officers from the Sheldon Police Department and O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office responded to the vacant farm and arrested three individuals for burglary.

Sheriff’s officials identified the adult as 18-year old Walker Hollenbeck, of Archer, who was arrested and booked into the O’Brien County Jail for two counts of 3rd Degree Burglary, a Class “C” Felony. Authorities say Hollenbeck is also charged with another burglary at the same farm earlier this month, when a Honda motorcycle was taken. Deputies say the motorcycle has been recovered from a residence in Archer.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, two juveniles, a 17-year old male and a 16-year old female were also arrested and charged in the burglary. The 17-year old male was reportedly transported to the Youth Emergency Services (YES) detention center in Cherokee. According to the release, the 16-year old female was charged and released to her mother.
