Alvord, Iowa — One person has been charged and arrested after an investigation into a tractor that had been reported stolen in Lyon County.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Saturday night, September 26th, their office received a call about 10:50 PM. The caller told the dispatcher that a John Deere 6410 tractor had been taken from a farm site in the 2500 block of 190th Street, two miles northeast of Alvord. The owner had allegedly found the tractor about two miles away with heavy damage to the front loader and bucket attached to the tractor.
Upon further investigation, deputies believe that Tyler Goodchild had taken the tractor without permission of the owner and drove it to another location.
Goodchild was placed under arrest and was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent; an Aggravated Misdemeanor.
He was booked into the Lyon County Jail.
Deputies say the case is still under investigation.
