Orange City Man Arrested On Felony Stalking Charge

Orange City, Iowa — An Orange City man who was recently arrested on domestic assault charges, has now been arrested on a felony stalking count.

According to a criminal complaint filed with the Sioux County Clerk of Court’s Office by the Orange City Police Department, 30-year-old Nicholas Baltazar of Orange City is accused of violation of a protection order. He was arrested on Wednesday.

In his statement, the officer says Baltazar violated an existing protection order by driving his vehicle in the area. The officer says there is security camera evidence.

Baltazar was charged with stalking – violation of a protection order, a class C felony. If convicted, Baltazar could face up to ten years in prison.

He faces a preliminary hearing on the charge on June 11th.

At last report, Baltazar remained in the Sioux County Jail in Orange City in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
