Orange City, Iowa — An Orange City man was taken to the hospital Tuesday morning after his personal mobility scooter struck a semi in Orange City.
According to the Orange City Police Department, the mishap took place about 7:20 Tuesday morning at the intersection of Albany Avenue Southeast and Highway 10 in Orange City.
Officers say a 2006 Mack semi tractor-trailer rig, driven by 42-year old Joshua Regnier of Donovan, Illinois was making a right turn from Albany Avenue onto Highway 10, when a personal mobility scooter, operated by 73-year old Jerome Munro of Orange City attempted to cross the highway, and struck the trailer of Regnier’s rig.
Munro was transported to the Orange City Health System Hospital by Orange City Ambulance. Regnier was uninjured in the mishap.
