Orange City, Iowa– An Orange City man was taken to the hospital after an accident in Orange City on Sunday, August 10, 2025.
The Orange City Police Department reports that at about 9:25 a.m., 55-year-old Nichole Kliegl of Alton was driving a 2022 Lincoln northbound on Albany Avenue Northeast in Orange City. They tell us that 77-year-old Wayne Kramer of Orange City was eastbound on 3rd Street Northeast on a 2015 Yiben moped/scooter.
The report says that Kramer was stopped at the stop sign for Albany Avenue. Kliegl attempted a left turn onto 3rd Street Northeast. The officer says she made an improper turn and struck Kramer’s vehicle.
The Orange City Ambulance took Kramer to Orange City Health System Hospital.
Kliegl’s Lincoln sustained $6000 in damages, and Kramer’s Yiben moped/scooter sustained $2000 in damages.
Kliegel was charged with what’s known as a “turning at intersection violation.” Kramer was charged with no proof of insurance.
