Hospers, Iowa– A Paullina man was taken to the hospital after an accident near Hospers on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
The Iowa State Patrol reports that at about 6:45 a.m., 34-year-old Cody Bucher of Paullina was driving a 2002 Chevy pickup westbound on 400th Street, a mile and a half west of Hospers.
The report says that Bucher lost control of the pickup, which struck the ditch. It says the road conditions at the time were icy.
The Hospers Ambulance took Bucher to Orange City Health System Hospital.
Bucher’s Chevy pickup sustained $3,000 in damages, which totaled the vehicle.
Bucher was charged with failure to maintain control and failure to maintain or use safety belts.
