Hull, Iowa — Folks are still scratching their heads after a business building was lightly damaged in a fire on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, near Hull.
According to Hull Fire Chief Ron Hoksbergen, about 10:20 a.m., the Hull Fire Department was called to the report of a fire at Livestock Equipment & Manufacturing at 3096 320th Street — the northwest business on Perkins Corner, two miles west of Hull.
The chief says the fire department saw a couple of black spots on the roof as they approached the scene. He was told there was smoke earlier, but none was visible on approach.
The Rock Valley Fire Department also responds to structure fires in Hull’s area, and they were there too, says Hoksbergen. He says firefighters used their thermal imaging cameras to find hot spots, which they doused with water.
Hoksbergen says no injuries were reported, and the damage was minimal. But he says the cause of the fire is still undetermined.
He says the firefighters who responded were on the scene for about half an hour.
