Pickup Destroyed In Fire Near Hospers

Hospers, Iowa — A pickup was destroyed in a fire on Friday, March 20, 2026, near Hospers.

According to Hospers Fire Chief Jason Overmole, at about 3:10 p.m., the Hospers Fire Department was called to the report of a vehicle fire near 400th Street & McKinley Avenue, about two miles east of Hospers.

When they got there, the chief says the fire department saw the pickup fully engulfed, and they quickly extinguished the flames.

Overmole says no injuries were reported.

He says the cause of the fire is undetermined.

Chief Overmole reports that the pickup was totaled in the blaze.

He says the firefighters who responded were on the scene for about half an hour.
