Little Rock, Iowa — A pickup was destroyed in a fire on Thursday, October 16, 2025, near Little Rock.
According to Little Rock Fire Chief Austin Kannegieter, at about 9:20 p.m., the Little Rock Fire Department was called to the report of a pickup fire near 140th Street and Larch Avenue, three miles west of Little Rock.
When they got there, the chief says the fire department saw the engine compartment fully engulfed. He says they used water and foam to fight the fire.
Kannegieter says no injuries were reported.
He says the cause of the fire appeared to be electrical in nature.
Chief Kannegieter reports that the pickup was totaled in the blaze.
He says the firefighters who responded were on the scene for between half an hour and 45 minutes.
The chief says that was the second fire in a week for them. They responded to a fire on the state line at Larch Avenue on Saturday, October 11th. That’s four miles north and three west of Little Rock. The chief says about 10 to 15 acres of cornstalk stubble burned in that fire, which was called in around noon. He says he’d like to send out a big “thank you” to the farmers who showed up with tractors and disks to help them get the blaze under control.
