Boyden, Iowa – A Rock Rapids teen was injured after a collision in Boyden on Christmas Day.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that just after 3:30 pm on Monday, December 25th, 17-year-old Melissa Hinderks of Boyden was driving a 2007 Chrysler Sebring eastbound on Highway 18 in Boyden. Nineteen-year-old Dayna Korthals of Rock Rapids was driving a 2001 Ford Taurus westbound on Highway 18. According to the report, Hinderks attempted to turn north onto Colfax Street and the vehicles collided in the intersection.
The Chrysler received $4,000 damage; the Ford received $5,000 damage.
Korthals reported minor injuries but declined further medical attention.
