Rock Valley, Iowa — A Rock Valley man has been arrested and faces 17 possession of child pornography charges after a search warrant was carried out.
According to a criminal complaint filed with the Sioux County Clerk of Court’s Office by the county sheriff’s office, 24-year-old Jesus Aranda Martinez of Rock Valley is accused of possession of 26 files believed to contain child sexual abuse material.
In his statement, the deputy says he received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, who work with electronic service providers to report child sexual exploitation to law enforcement for the purpose of investigation. The deputy says that in carrying out a search warrant, he received 26 files from a Google account, which he traced to Aranda Martinez, who admitted to using online applications to access child pornography.
Aranda Martinez faces 17 counts of purchase or possession of a depiction of a minor in a sex act, a class D felony. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison ON EACH COUNT.
At this point, the trial is scheduled for November (2025).
At last report, Aranda Martinez was in custody in the Sioux County Jail in Orange City.
