Sioux Center, Iowa — A Rock Valley woman was transported to Sioux Center Health in the wake of a two-vehicle crash three miles southwest of Sioux Center early Wednesday morning.
Sioux County authorities say the mishap occurred shortly before 5:00 am Wednesday. Deputies say a 2007 Suzuki XL7 crossover, driven by 34-year-old Natividad de Tomas, of Rock Valley, was westbound on 410th Street, and was attempting a left turn into a residential driveway, when her vehicle was struck by an eastbound 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by 57-year-old Daniel Wieling, of Ireton.
Authorities say De Tomas was transported by the Sioux Center Ambulance to Sioux Center Health for treatment of her injuries.
The Suzuki sustained approximately $1,500 in damage. The Jeep sustained an estimated $1,200 in damage.
De Tomas was reportedly cited for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license and making an unsafe turn.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Sioux Center Police Department, Sioux Center Fire Department and Sioux Center Ambulance.
