Peterson, Iowa — Two people were arrested on Sunday on drug charges after the Clay County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on a residence in Peterson.
The Sheriff’s Office says the warrant was obtained based on information they received of illicit drug use that allegedly occurred the previous day with a minor present. Deputies tell us they found multiple items used for the ingestion of various controlled substances, along with items used for the sale and distribution of illegal drugs.
They tell us 46-year-old Ryan Warden and 19-year-old Dyce Warden, both of Peterson, were arrested on the scene. They were each charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Ryan Warden was additionally charged with distributing drugs to a person under 18 years old, possession with intent to deliver, possession of methamphetamine, and theft in the 3rd degree.
Both were booked into the Clay County Jail in Spencer.
Authorities say a 15-year-old male who was on the scene at the time was turned over to the custody of DHS officials.
Authorities say the investigation continues and that more charges are pending.
