Sheldon Fire Company Called To VNU Home……Twice

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Fire Company has responded to a pair of fire alarms at a building at Village Northwest Unlimited in just over twelve hours.

According to Assistant Fire Chief Brad Hindt, the first call came in a 6:04 Wednesday evening (2/5/2020). Hindt says all residents had exited the house by the time firefighters arrived on scene.

He says firefighters, along with Village personnel found water leaking from the ceiling, caused by a leaking coupling in the ceiling. Fire Department personnel were back in service at 7:00 pm.

The second call to the same house at Village Northwest Unlimited came shortly before 8:00 Thursday morning. Hindt says they discovered that alarm was caused by dust from removing the ceiling to fix the leak that caused Wednesday evening’s alarm. The Sheldon Fire Company was back in service at 8:15 Thursday morning.
