Sibley, Iowa — A Sheldon man has been arrested on a warrant for felony forgery and other charges connected to an incident that happened over four years ago.
According to a criminal complaint filed with the Osceola County Clerk of Court’s Office by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, 28-year-old Calin Lario Guiterrez of Sheldon is accused of driving drunk, causing an accident, and presenting the officer with a fraudulent ID. He was arrested on the warrant on Thursday.
In his statement, the deputy says Lario Guiterrez was found to be allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. He says Lario Guiterrez was unable to maintain his lane and failed to stop at a stop sign, causing a single-vehicle accident. He was found to be in possession of a fraudulent ID card, says the deputy.
Lario Guiterrez was charged with felony forgery, a class D felony. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison.
No court dates have yet been set.
At last report, Lario Guiterrez remained in the Osceola County Jail in Sibley in lieu of a $5000 bond.
