Sheldon, Iowa — A Sheldon man faces a pair of felony charges following the investigation into an incident that happened late last year.
Court records indicate that 21-year-old Steve Collins is accused of Forgery and Identity Theft for allegedly using the victim’s banking information to make four payments , totaling just under $3,200 on his credit card account between October 1st and December 5th of last year.
Online court records indicate that charges were filed against Collins on February 3rd, with an arrest warrant issued February 4th. According to O’Brien County Jail logs, Collins was taken into custody late Friday afternoon (February 7th).
Forgery and ID Theft are both Class D Felonies, and if Collins is convicted, each charge carries a penalty of up to 5 years in prison.
