Sheldon Woman, Passenger Taken To Hospital After Crash Near Rock Valley

Rock Valley, Iowa — A Sheldon woman and her passenger were taken to a hospital after an accident near Rock Valley on Wednesday, September 10th.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 10:30 a.m., 40-year-old Timothy Lange of Doon was driving a 2020 Ford F-350 Super Duty pulling a 2008 PJ flatbed trailer westbound on Highway 18, about two miles west of Rock Valley. They say he stopped to wait for traffic to clear at the intersection, intending to turn north onto Dogwood Avenue. They tell us 49-year-old Debora Stashuk-Anderson of Sheldon was driving a 2010 Dodge Charger westbound behind the Lange vehicle when she struck the rear of the trailer.

The Rock Valley Ambulance took Stashuk-Anderson and a passenger to Hegg Health Center.

Damage to the Ford and trailer was estimated at $8,000. The Dodge Charger sustained approximately $15,000 in damage.

Stashuk-Anderson was cited on a charge of following too closely.

The sheriff’s office says the Rock Valley Police Department, Rock Valley Fire Department, and the Rock Valley Ambulance Squad assisted with the response to the accident, which they say remains under investigation.
