Sibley Man Faces Felony Drug Charges In Lyon County

Little Rock, Iowa — A Sibley man faces felony drug charges after a traffic stop in Little Rock.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that they arrested 42-year-old Cory Joshua Reiter of Sibley on Thursday, February 17th on active warrants and current offenses.

The complaint alleges that Lyon County Sheriff K9 Rizzo alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle after a free air sniff. The deputy says that in a post-miranda interview, Reiter admitted to the presence of methamphetamine, marijuana, and paraphernalia in the vehicle. A search warrant was executed on the vehicle and a small baggie containing a white crystalline substance was allegedly found. He also allegedly found drug paraphernalia items, some with what appeared to be marijuana residue.

The deputy says Reiter has 3+ prior convictions under the “Prohibited Acts” section of the Iowa Code involving controlled substances. He says he also found a vial of urine with a temperature strip, and accuses Reiter of possessing the vial of urine with the intent to defraud a drug test, “as the defendant is on parole.”

Reiter was charged with third or subsequent offense possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony and third or subsequent offense possession of marijuana, an aggravated misdemeanor, and faces a preliminary hearing on the charges on March 9th, 2022.
