Sibley Resident Taken To Hospital After Accident Near George

George, Iowa — A Sibley resident was taken to the hospital after a one-vehicle accident near George on Wednesday night.

According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, about 10:50 p.m., Dalton George Marco of Sibley was driving eastbound on 230th Street near Log Avenue, two miles south and about four miles east of George in a 1997 Ford F-150 pickup.

The sheriff’s office reports that Marco fell asleep behind the wheel. They tell us the vehicle entered the north roadside ditch, then struck a creek embankment.

The Lyon County Ambulance took Marco to Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley.

The report says the pickup was a total loss.

The Sheriff’s Office says the George Fire Department, George EMS, the Lyon County Ambulance squad, and Trackside Towing and Service assisted with the response to the accident.
