Sioux Center, Iowa — A Sioux Center man has been arrested on a warrant for felony drug charges.
According to criminal complaints filed with the Sioux County Clerk of Court’s Office by the Rock Valley Police Department, 36-year-old Mark Pruismann of Sioux Center is accused of the possession of multiple drugs including methamphetamine, marijuana, and peyote (mescaline). He was arrested on Friday, March 10th.
The officer writes that on November 3, 2022, an informant bought four grams of meth, which was tested at the Rock Valley Police Department and tested positive. So a search warrant was obtained and was carried out on December 9, 2022. The officer states that over 400 grams of marijuana, over 25 grams of meth, and over 20 grams of peyote was found. Tests confirmed all substances.
Pruismann was charged with four counts of controlled substance violation, one a class B felony, two class C felonies, and a class D felony; three counts of failure to affix a drug tax stamp, a class D felony; and one misdemeanor count. If convicted, of a class B felony, Pruismann could face up to 25 years in prison.
Pruismann faces a preliminary hearing on the charges on Tuesday, March 21st.
At last report, Pruismann remained in the Sioux County Jail in Orange City in lieu of a $30,000 bond.
