Sioux Center, Iowa– A Sioux Center man was taken to the hospital after an accident in Sioux Center on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.
The Sioux Center Police Department reports that at about 5:20 p.m., 55-year-old Guillermo Andres Pedro of Sioux Center was driving a 2009 Chevy Suburban northbound on Highway 75, in front of Bomgaars in northern Sioux Center. They tell us that 26-year-old Justin Vander Veen of Sioux Center was southbound on 75 in a 2007 Chevy Impala.
The report says that Andres Pedro crossed the southbound lanes of traffic to enter the Bomgaars store driveway and was struck by Vander Veen.
The Sioux Center Ambulance took Vander Veen to Sioux Center Health Hospital.
Andres Pedro’s Suburban sustained $10,000 in damages, and Vander Veen’s Impala sustained $5000 in damages. Both were considered totaled in the crash.
Andres Pedro was charged with failure to yield upon left turn and failure to have a valid driver’s license.
