Sioux Center, Iowa — A Sioux Center woman is facing a felony charge after being pulled over by a Sioux Center Police Officer Saturday afternoon (August 15th).
Court records indicate that a vehicle driven by 61-year-old Paulette Kay Romano of Sioux Center was pulled over for speeding in Sioux Center around 2:30 Saturday afternoon. According to authorities, a strong odor of alcohol was detected by the officer during the traffic stop.
According to court records, Romano allegedly admitted to the officer that she had consumed alcohol. The officer then administered several standardized field sobriety test, which the officer says she failed.
Romano was placed under arrest and transported to the Sioux County Jail on charges of: 3rd Offense Operating While Intoxicated, a Class D Felony; Driving While License Revoked; and Speeding.
Court records indicate that a breathalyzer test allegedly showed a blood alcohol content of 0.096, which is above the legal limit of 0.08.
