Sioux Center, Iowa– A Sioux Center woman was taken to the hospital after an accident in Sioux Center on Friday, December 26, 2025.
The Sioux Center Police Department reports that at about 5:50 p.m., 71-year-old Laura Hale of Sioux Center was driving a 2005 Honda eastbound on 13th Avenue Southwest in Sioux Center. They tell us that 54-year-old Chad Lake of Le Mars was northbound on Highway 75 in a 2015 International semi.
The report says that Hale was stopped for a stop sign and attempted a left turn, intending on going north on Highway 75. The officer says she failed to yield and collided with the underside of the semi-trailer.
Hale was taken to Sioux Center Health Hospital.
Hale’s Honda sustained $10,000 in damages, which totaled the car. Lake’s International semi, owned by Farmer’s Coop also sustained $10,000 in damages.
