Hawarden, Iowa — A Sioux City man is in custody on arrest warrants in connection with an August 2020 burglary at a rural Hawarden residence.
According to court records, on August 2nd, an intruder was discovered inside a rural Hawarden residence and was found walking out of the residence with a drill and drill bit. Two containers were reportedly loaded with items from the residence, but were left at the scene. After being confronted, the suspect departed the residence. His vehicle was later stopped in Lyon County, according to authorities, and was found to contain an antique kerosene heater that was missing from the rural Hawarden residence.
Authorities say that, after obtaining a search warrant, they discovered methamphetamine, along with other marijuana and methamphetamine paraphernalia.
According to the Sioux County Jail Arrest Log, 38-year-old Jonathon Stillwater was placed under arrest on Monday of this week, on warrants charging him with: 3rd Degree Burglary, a Class D Felony; Possession of Methamphetamine and Driving While License Revoked, both of which are Serious Misdemeanors; and 5th Degree Theft, a Simple Misdemeanor.
Online court records indicate that Rainwater made his initial court appearance Tuesday morning.
As of noon Tuesday he was being housed in the Sioux County Jail on the charges.
